The motherboard that I have picked out is no. 1 cheap, no 2 it has the IDE connectors that I want. Listed in the manual for cpu is AMD Sempron. Does it matter which sempron I use from a compatibility stand point? The seller lists the board plain or with an OEM cpu. I'd like a retail cpu for warranty purposes so I am leaning to buying just the board and then adding a cpu. What should I consider in picking out a heatsink/fan combo? Socket AM2 board

Hi, if you purchase a retail CPU it will come with a heatsink/fan.

Just make sure the CPU you purchase is AM2 socket, so as to fit in the motherboard correctly.
