My problems started at about 6:45 on December 11. I believe that the virus smuggled itself into my computer inside of a zip file. Since then i have been getting period warnings about netsky.q and the links on that window lead (or did lead before my browsers stopped working) to a site to buy some antivirus program. Someone had screenshots of the exact site/window but I do not see it in the list anymore, it was also on the topic of netsky.Q (found it, I'm having some of the same problems as this guy, same warning window ect. http://www.geekstogo...-Q-t220644.html )

Internet explorer, Mozilla Firefox, and Safari all crash shortly after being run, therefore I am typing this from a non-infected computer nearby.

I downloaded an anti-spyware program (spy bot or something) and ran it, when it finished I found out that the program required you to buy it to "fix" the issues. I took advantage of the fact that it had the problems file names and locations listed and started to go down the list deleting the registry files. Then I found one on the list called "a.exe".

I looked up A.exe and its creation date was december 11 6:45, and it was in the location as "SysMonXP.exe" would have been from the 2004 version of netsky.q and about the same filesize aswell (12k or something). I then edited it with notepad + to see what was in it, and it was unable to decode/read the programming language it was written in (netsky makers claim to use C++ but notepad+ is compatible with C++). I then deleted a.exe

(just so you know its icon was a black/grey 3 point spiral)

I then decided to search for files created on december 11th and found a prefetch file for a.exe, so i then deleted that.

I then stumbled across this website and downloaded that freeware antimalware program listed in one of the pinned of this section of the forum and it did a quick scan.

It found 1 adware file, and 8 files from that other spyware program I had already uninstalled because it was not as "free" as it claimed. (I've got the log if needed) Surprisinly it found nothing but the warning messages about netsky.q continue

I'm going to be putting hijack this onto a flash drive and bringing it over to the infected pc momentarily to get you guys a log.
