i am getting a new laptop soon so decided to make discs of all my itunes and pics etc b4 i pass this laptop on to my mam.
i have been tying to tidy it up so yes i ave removed programs in the past few days
i put in a discs to make back ups from itunes and it said that it couldn't cause drives or programs were missing
so i looked in my computer, not there.
iv already tried the two common suggestions
looked in device manager, not there either
tried the removing upper and lower files with the regedit
also didn't work, i really need to get it fixed so i can make copies of everything and to transfer important things to my new laptop, but dot wana hae to spend money on it when im only using it another week or so.
any help or ideas will be much appreciated.
thanks in advance

1. Download, and run Restore Missing CD Drive patch
Double click on downloaded file, and allow registry merge.
or...
2. Go to Device Manager, click a "+" sign next to IDE ATA/ATAPI Controllers.
You'll see two items:
- ATA Channel0 (or Primary Channel)
- ATA Channel1 (or Secondary Channel)
Right click on each of them, and click Uninstall. Confirm.
Restart Windows. They'll be automatically reinstalled.
