my computer only starts with boot disk

if i dont enter the disk it says ""Invalis system disk Replace the disk and press any key""So I do and I'm at a menu that says 1help2startupwith cd rom 3 startup w/o cd rom 4 minimal.What do I do from here a step by step guide

Howszit?

I've worked on a few WindowsME installations, but I'd suggest trying to start with 2-CD rom support. After it starts type scandisk then enter. An invalid system disk means that your operating system is corrupted and a hard drive repair is needed.
