Your log looks good. Are you having any issues?


Here are some tips, to reduce the potential for spyware infection in the future, I strongly recommend installing the following applications:

Detect and Remove Programs:

• How to use Ad-Aware to remove Spyware <= If you suspect that you have spyware installed on your computer, here are instructions on how to download, install and then use Ad-Aware.
• How to use Spybot to remove Spyware <= If you suspect that you have spyware installed on your computer, here are instructions on how to download, install and then use Spybot. Similar to Ad-Aware, I strongly recommend both to catch most spyware.

Prevention Programs:

• Spywareblaster <= SpywareBlaster will prevent spyware from being installed.
• Spywareguard <= SpywareGuard offers realtime protection from spyware installation attempts.
• IE/Spyad <= IE/Spyad places over 4000 websites and domains in the IE Restricted list which will severely impair attempts to infect your system. It basically prevents any downloads (Cookies etc) from the sites listed, although you will still be able to connect to the sites.
• MVPS Hosts file <= The MVPS Hosts file replaces your current HOSTS file with one containing well know ad sites etc. Basically, this prevents your coputer from connecting to those sites by redirecting them to 127.0.0.1 which is your local computer
• Google Toolbar <= Get the free google toolbar to help stop pop up windows.

Other necessary Programs:

• AntiVirus Program<= An AntiVirus program is a must! Whether it is a free version like AVG or Anti-Vir, or a shareware version like Norton or Kapersky, this is a must have.
• Firewall<= A firewall is definatley a must have. Two good free versions are Sygate and ZoneLabs.
• More Secure Browser<= Internet Explorer is not the most secure and best browser. There are safer and better alternatives available. I recommend Firefox, however Opera is OK as well.

Be sure to also keep up with Windows and IE updates.

Hey Paul,
We did some extra research on the appwiz.dll file and it has to go.
No worries.
So that is why I am following up with this post.

Please reboot into SafeMode.

Scan with HJT and place a check mark next to the following items:

O2 - BHO: (no name) - {5C8B2A36-3DB1-42A4-A3CB-D426709BBFEB} - (no file)
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {78364D99-A640-4ddf-B91A-67EFF8373045} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\appwiz.dll
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {FDD3B846-8D59-4ffb-8758-209B6AD74ACC} - (no file)

Make sure to close all open windows except HJT and the click the Fixed Checked button.

Now search and delete this file:

C:\WINDOWS\system32\appwiz.dll


Start CleanUp
When CleanUp starts go to the Options button (right side of CleanUp screen)
Uncheck cookies
This is optional, if you leave the box checked it will remove all of your cookies, at this point removing cookies is a good idea.
Click OK
Then click on the CleanUp button. This will take a short while, let it do its thing.
When asked to reboot system select No
Close CleanUp

Reboot and post back a new HJT log by using Add Reply

it is running fine but i have this problem with it always rebooting automatically. always happens. i don't even have a clue what could be causing it.

It could be a number of things. Does it restart when you are on the Internet or just randomly even when you are not connected.

I could be hardware related, such as:
Power Supply
Fan not cooling the unit
You could open up your case and use some compressed air to clean it out.

Now when i turn on my computer it says that a serious error has occured and shows this. It does this very often, not everytime but probably 1 out of every 3 times i turn it on. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have attached a pic of what the screen says with the error code. Please help.

I checked out the site but didn't know which one to download. I have the Radeon 9200 AGP with 128 MB and is running windows XP Media Center. If could possibly help me find which one it is I need, I would greatly appreciate it. The driver I have now is 6.14.10.6374.
