If i mute the sound for all devices under the Control Panel on my Dell E1505 laptop, i still get loud beep (similar to the "critical stop" windows default) sounds whenever i encounter an error/warning message while i am logged into Citrix and connected to my work desktop. How do i Mute those sounds so i am not disturbing people around me?

I am using Windows XP.

The beep is probably coming from the PC Speaker inside the system. Most systems do this when they can't play sounds. An alternative may be to turn the sound down to just above minimum. Or plug headphones in.
