Hey everyone,

I been having a problem with playing counter strike on Vista. When i play for a about an hour or so my computer would freeze in game and i would need to manually shut down the computer. I currently have a Gateway GT5432 and im thinking about upgrading my video card and adding a bit more RAM.

Here are my specs.

Processor : AMD Athlon™ 64 X2 5000+, Dual Core processor with AMD64 Technology
Chipset : NVIDIA® GeForce® 6150SE integrated graphics
Memory : Installed: 1024 MB DDR2, 533 MHz, (PC4200) dual channel memory (two 512 MB DIMMs)
Expandable to: 4 GB total memory (4 DIMM DDR2 slots)
Hard Drive : 320 GB, 7200 RPM, SATA II hard drive

If you need more information about the specs here's the full list : http://support.gatew...009464sp2.shtml

I was thinking about upgrading to these two parts and im wondering if they would fit and work properly.

Video Card : http://www.newegg.co...N82E16814125228
Memory : http://www.newegg.co...N82E16820134187

Let me know what you guys think. Thanks!

Well first off, If it still has the stock PSU in it you will want to upgrade it to atleast a 400w or better. That Graphics card should work as long as it is PCI-E x16 backwards compatible.

The 2 Gig stick you selected wont work in your system as it has a cap of 4 gigs and 4 slots, so it is a max of 1 gig per slot. For memory try this -> http://www.newegg.co...N82E16820231018

So video card should be good unless someone else chimes in and says it wont. But the ram I pointed out should work fine in your system.
