End of file - 8990 bytes

I haven't yet gone through any of my processes since that day and I don't know of a website to look them up anymore because my History has been cleared and I used another website thatt was to help to find it.
--
Also if I go to run->Regedit
then
HKEY_CURRENT_USER->
Control Panel->
don't load->
Then files inside of the folder
Name |Type | Data
(Default) REG_SZ (value not set)
ncpa.cpl REG_SZ No
odbccp32.cpl REG_SZ No

Since none of that folder is capitalized I thought it stood out along with the name..Was just wondering if that was normal.

Note: did not edit anything in regedit

Edit:
Also in System Restore when I go to do a restore it says that there is someone else logged in but in the task manager it says it's just me...Just thought I'd mention that and also a virus or osmething wiped out any restore points before I got the viruses so right now is probably my clearest restore point that I can get unless we can wipe the viruses out and make a new one [I'm guessing I'll have to disable system restore to fix something then?]

I finished the scan and it didn't say it found anything wrong but the file is 24mb and it doesn't look like it's going to fit into the chat and it won't allow me to even try to paste into the message box. What do you want me to do to show you the log?

Oh also I just remembered this but when I have task manager open and I have IE open sometimes [not sure if it's only when I'm playing games or just sometimes I haven't payed quite enough attention to remember that] the Mem Usage skyrockets to over 300k and usually the usage is around 130k I think. Could this be caused by malware or a memory leak of IE of some sort?

Download OTScanIt2.exe to your Desktop and double-click on it to extract the files. It will create a folder named OTScanIt2 on your desktop.
  • Open the OTScanIt2 folder and double-click on OTScanIt.exe to start the program. Make sure you close all other programs and don't use the PC while the scan runs.
  • Under File Age at the top, change it from 30 days to 90 days
  • Under Additional Scans check the boxes beside Reg - ColumnHandlers, Reg - Desktop Components, Reg - Disabled MS Config Items, Reg - File Associations, Reg - NetSvcs, Reg - Protocol Filters, Reg - Protocol Handlers, Reg - SafeBoot Minimal, Reg - SafeBoot Network, Reg - Session Manager Settings, Reg - Winsock2 Catalogs, File - Lop Check, File - Purity Scan, Files - Signature Check, and Evnt - EventViewer Logs ( Last 10 Errors).
  • Under Rootkit Search change it to Yes

  • Now click the Run Scan button on the toolbar. Make sure not to use the PC while the program is running or it will freeze.
  • When the scan is complete Notepad will open with the report file loaded in it.
  • Click the Format menu and make sure that Wordwrap is not checked. If it is then click on it to uncheck it.
Use the Add Reply button and post the information back here in an attachment. I will review it when it comes in. The last line is < End of Report >, so make sure that is the last line in the attached report.

Make sure you attach the report in your reply. If it is too big to upload, then zip the text file and upload it that way

hm, can you tell what process is causing the spike in mem usage?

well in the task manager in the processes tab it says
Image Name|User Name|CPU|Mem Usage
iexplorer.exe My name 90 300k+

The cpu is usually pretty high when the mem usage starts to climb but it's not a spike in mem usage it just slowly starts to go higher and higher. until I close it and re-open then it's fine.

Download Dr.Web CureIt to the desktop:
ftp://ftp.drweb.com/pub/drweb/cureit/drweb-cureit.exe
  • Doubleclick the drweb-cureit.exe file and Allow to run the express scan
  • This will scan the files currently running in memory and when something is found, click the yes button when it asks you if you want to cure it. This is only a short scan.
  • Once the short scan has finished, mark the drives that you want to scan.
  • Select all drives. A red dot shows which drives have been chosen.
  • Click the green arrow at the right, and the scan will start.
  • Click 'Yes to all' if it asks if you want to cure/move the file.
  • When the scan has finished, in the menu, click file and choose save report list
  • Save the report to your desktop. The report will be called DrWeb.csv
  • Close Dr.Web Cureit.

There doesn't appear to be a way to save a report because the scan finished and at the bottom left it says "Done - no viruses found"

Trend Micro PC-cillin still doesn't appear to update and the "Windows Security Alerts" still notifies me that it may be out of date.

The box just coes up and hovers for a moment then disappears.

To tell you the truth the computer seems to be handling itself fine though other than that IE problem that happens sometimes. I am getting a new computer and my mom is using this one and she doesn't really use the internet long enough for the problem in IE to be significant. I did find several viruses that were removed while getting your help. Thank you very much and if I remember correctly the firewall was disabled before we did this and now it is working :) so I think the computer is doing well now.

Again thank you very much for your help. I am actually considering taking the school to learn how to fight malware and then helping out in the forums myself if I can because I see how much you all help people! :)
