outlook express/dsl connection

computer was rebuilt about 4 years ago, Windows XP, Outlook Express, Yahoo SBC DSL: recently when I open Outlook the DSL connection mysteriously disconnects. not every time, but almost! sometimes the "do you want to connect" message pops up, but not everytime. Since I open my email several times a day this is very annoying. I haven't yet found a help site addressing this particular problem. My log in name is a clue to my computer savvy. Thanks, dohdohbird
