I am trying to figure out what to do with this computer. I need this computer to be back and running up for about two weeks when the new machine arrives.

It is a Dell GX150 running on Intel Pentium II. 10 gig hardrive, it maxes out at 512 Ram (currently running).

There are no other programs installed on this machine (no Office, WP or any other word processing software.) I am able to run DOS programs, but when I try to connect to the internet I get the following error:

"Internet Connection Wizard:

There is not enough memory to continue. Close one or more applications and try again."

I really need to run Word Perfect and connect to the internet on this machine. I just can not get it to work. The CD-rom will not read discs either.

What can I do??

Reduce the amount of memory in the computer if possible to less than 512Mb and see what happens.

Got an update!!

:)

I was able to get this computer up and running!!

I tried reducing the memory on the computer, but I would get the same error. :)

What I did was install an older version of IE and it would connect to the internet after that. Then I tried installing the updates from the windows update, but they would not download.

The CD rom would not work either and I installed the drivers for it and got that working. So then I installed XP and the computer is up and running like a champ!!
