adaware crashing

hi,

after downloading the latest definition files for adaware, whenever i do a scan, it quits out while "scanning hosts files", whatever that is?, and i get an error pop-up that says "unhandled exception"

so now i cant do a scan, any ideas on how i can resolve this or whats causing it?
