I recently put a used maxtor sata drive in my system to use for storage. When i turn the computer on, theres a VERY loud grinding noise coming from the hard drive, and it doesnt stop until the computer gets turned off again. I figured the hard drive was bad, but the weird thing is that if i reset the computer 2 times in a row (has to be exactly 2 times too) the drive will work fine for as long as i keep my computer on. I usually keep it on for days at a time, and im constantly moving stuff to and from the drive, and it works perfectly, without any noise or anything, unless i turn it off...

Why does it do this?
