Laptop needs new hard drive...:P

Hello!
After battling with various viruses on my friend's laptop, the hard drive went kaput!

I was able to back up the drive, but now need a new drive. She has an HP compaq 7400nx, running win xp
and it had this drive installed in it....

i'd like to upgrade it for her a bit if possible... its 120GB now..... i'm not sure what exactly to purchase... can any laptop internal drive fit in any laptop?
any suggestions?
