Duplicate Icons in Control panel..

I have several duplicate icons showing in my control panel..and I'm unable to just delete them....any suggestions?

Thanks for this! I was able to get rid of the duplicate .cpl files.......however the icons remained - I was still unable to delete them with the instructions that the link provided

Go to the following folder.
C:\Windows\System32 > search for *.Cpl files.
Do you still have the duplicate entries there and can you delete them from there?

yes I've done that part...but the icons themselves are still in the control panel
