Saving History List in Explorer

I'm having trouble saving the Internet Explorer History List, cookies and Cache to my Hard Drive. Not certain which folder they should be in. My main browser is Netscape Communicator but I use Explorer more often to access Websites.

I'm using Explorer 5.0.1. When I close the browser and return to it, the History list has not been saved. Cookies, however, are saved under "Preferences"-Advanced but are not saved to Hard Drive. When I try to access the Web Archive Cache I receive an error message saying "no such device or address".

Thanks in advance for any advice.
