Cannot Download Anything From Microsoft.com Using Internet Explorer

Anytime I try to download anything from the microsoft page using my internet explorer it won't allow me. Also any advertisement that would normally be displayed now shows up as page cannot be displayed. That goes for both firefox and internet explorer. I run friendblaster for my bands myspace on this computer and it will no longer log on for me. I suspect that this may be related to the advertisements not showing up. I'd also like to download a new internet explorer update my windows and get a better net framework!! None of this is possible without being able to download from microsoft. Any ideas?
