Keyboard failure

This isn't a critical problem, just aggrevating :tazz:

When I start-up the computer and the password box pops up I am unable to type anything. The mouse works normally so I am able to restart and everything works fine. Occasionally I have to do a cold boot to get it to work.
The folks at HP helped somewhat by having me download an updated BIOS so it doesn't happen as frequently.

Compaq internet keyboard hooked to USB port.

Anyone have similar problems?
