If say a "crossfire" motherboard with two pci-e x16 slots were to use nvidia geforce 9800 video cards.... would that work? in other words does SLI work on a crossfire board?

this particular board http://www.newegg.ca...N82E16813131339
thanks to JRM20 for the suggestion

If its only a Crossfire-enabled motherboard then you can only do Crossfire or 2 ATI video cards.
You cannot use 2 Nvidia video card to set up SLI on a Crossfire-enabled motherboard as it will not work.

The motherboard you have picked can only do Crossfire, no SLI. So you will NOT be able to use 2 x 9800 video cards in SLI configuration.

There is also an exception, if you're going to get an X58 type of motherboard (which you can use an Intel Core i7 CPU) then you can do SLI/Crossfire.
