hello, my problem is similar but not identical. I have lost most of the programs listed in my "All Programs" folder. They are still on my drive, as I can search them and run them, so this is more of a convenience thing. I had something freezing my system, so I went through the steps on this site to remove malware/spyware/trojans and rootkits. All is well now except for this little issue.
Any help is appreciated.
