its taken at least twenty five tries to get into the bios and i believe it said the cpu temperture was 194 degrees f. is that possible? what would cause it to be so hot in a matter of twenty seconds?

Also, what generally gives out? CPU or motherboard?

This behaviour is typically caused because the heatsink for the processor either isn't properly seated or isn't present.
