Can't Boot

When I click on the user name, I am told that it is starting the Network Connections, and almost instantly it is Closing the Network Connections, and never leaves the screen.
I have run chkdsk /p/r from the recovery console, I have reinstalled Windows over itself, in an attempt to correct the prolem, and to no avail, exactly the same symptoms.
Chkds by they way finds no problems. Any ideas?
