I got a laptop a few days ago, and i'm very very confused here. It says it has 4Gig of Ram within it, and even when i first opened my laptop up and the welcome screen came, it showed my specs were 4Gigs.

Now i go to "dxdiag" and it says memory is 2800mb or something, which isnt 4 gigs.

I'm trying to use Camtasia, and recording something on my screen, but i don't seem to have enough memory to do it efficiently.

My vista i believe is 32bit, please tell me this isn't some manufacturers problems? As others who brought this laptop have had no complaints...

This is the one i got - http://www.laptopsdi...version.asp#top

And finally processes, please tell me if there is something that shouldn't be here, or is taking up unnecessary ram.

It's normal for 32-bit system. Read here: http://www.crucial.c...r.aspx?qid=4251
