Hello again,

i cant seem to install my video card drivers. I was prompted during reinstalling windows, but couldnt find the cd so i clicked cancel.

I dled the latest Detanator drivers, and when i attempt to install them they say that "Setup could not locate any compatible drivers for your current hardware". Setup exits.

This computer has been taken over by the devil, i swear.

I tried to force the drivers by using add/remove hardware, but when i browse to the install files and select them, there is no hardware listed in the list. I will try removing the card and plugging it back in, i know it resets PCI slots but not sure about AGP, however, ill try anything once.

Thanks again!

re-installing windows...was this a fresh install? you may need to reload the drivers for your mainboard. drivers for the AGP slot would be included in that.
after that, then you can download and install drivers for your specific card.

Using a GeForce FX 5700 AGP.

Ill reload the mobo drivers.

Wasnt a fresh install... was a repair install with a slipstreamed SP2 cd.

Upon reinstalling the drivers, Windows would not start, got an error saying that a file (looked like an nvidia related driver) was not found or is corrupted and halted.

Attempting a repair install of windows.

Repair install Failed : /

specific file and path is system32\DRIVERS\nvatabus.sys

If someone tells me how, i can probably replace the file bu burning them onto a CD with my computer, and then using the repair console. I dont know how, so i wont do it myself : /
