can I download windows XP programs on Vista ?

I don't know if I like Vista it's so different from XP- is it better? and can I use the programs I have for XP on Vista?
Can't tranfer programs from old XP-tried a flash drive but don't know how to use it.
Tried to download Photo suite but when I opened it, it was blank (unsuccessful download).

(PS) No computer wiz...don't know the lingo. {Have old computer Xp, New one Vista}

Hello my2boyx

First of all we will find out what version of Vista you are running , that is ... if it is part of the 32bit family or 64bit family

Relatively easy task :)

Press and hold Windows key on keyboard ( windows logo on it ) and press the Pause-Break key

You should be taken to a window that says "System properties "

If you could .. just copy all the System information

And all the Computer information

That will help with any other queries you may have
