I am afraid to shut it down and start over. I have been have issues since December-

Just crashed again Feb 18. Reinstalled XP over last reinstall-which was installed in conjunction with first installation in same partition...because I was stupid and did not know any better. Every thing was ok for the past couple of days. I installed Sunbelt, AVG, Malwarebytes and went through that check that is listed on the ....How did I get infected thread.

Got as far as down loading Microsofts Updates-up to Service Pak2- on a clean system. Windows Firewall is disabled. I use FireFox and added a couple of add-ons...Flashblock and NoScript.

Was running Anti Virus scan when system suddenly crashed-stop errors- couldn't catch them-system automatically started over. It took about 30 minutes to boot up, stopped about halfway- but allowed me to open up FireFox to get to the Web.

Which is where I am at now. I can use the net- But XP has frozen up. Cannot access error logs.

Windows Task Manager keeps coming up. If the internet freezes-I hit CTRL+ ALT+ DEL and the Task Manager comes up-if I hit Switch to-it unfreezes and allows me to keep working.
