This laptop keeps having a system update pop up. The update says that there's one update to install - "Security Update for Microsoft XML Core Services Pack 2 (KB954430)" It appears to install but then pops back up 10 seconds later.

Used:
The Shield Delux 2009 Antivirus
Malwarebytes Anti-Malware (found a bunch of bad files that were removed)
ATF_Cleaner

To prepare:
ERUNT
System Restore Point

The forum rules say, "Don't attach your logs unless a helper asks you"
I have the hijackthis log, the Malwarebytes log, and the uninstal_list available

Please help

You can copy and paste your logs into your post. The rule you are referring to means that we don't want you to add the logs as attachment files in the post unless requested.
