Can't Burn Iso File ...

I downloaded a file and its an ISO file...I have burned an iso file before but this time it will not work...I ended up using alcohol to burn the iso image to a dvd and all that was on the dvd was the file "desktop.ini"....why is this happening?

he wasn't asking what in iso file IS...he's asking what the ISO contains and where it was obtained
