Hi.

this is my first post.

I have a Compaq Presario SR1603WM Desktop PC.

I get an Error message that states:
16 bit MS-DOS subsystem System/CurrentControlSet/Control/VirtualDeviceDrivers
Virtual device driver format in the registry is invalid.

Ran PC-Doctor5 which says the AMD processor fails the MMX, FPU, and SSE tests. here is an excerpt from the log:

Test Name: AMD FPU Test

I checked in REGEDITand found that VirtualDeviceDrivers is nowhere in the registry. The progression in the registry goes: HKEY_Local_Machine/System/CurrentControlSet/Control/Video, then
HKEY_Local_Machine/System/CurrentControlSet/Control/Watchdog
But NO HKEY_Local_Machine/System/CurrentControlSet/Control/VirtualDeviceDrivers entry is even in the registry?!

Can you help?

16 bit MS-DOS error is often caused by an infection.

Before you post a log click on this link --> You Must Read This Before Posting A Hijackthis Log
