Itunes store internet connection problem

whenever i try to connect to the itunes store it says
"Itunes could not connect to the itunes store. make sure your network connection is active and try again."

i could use some help and i think it is a problem with my computer or norton internet security i have wutever 2005 is soo... pleas help
