Hello,

I hope I am posting in the correct forum....

I want to know if there's a chance for a machine to be infected when connected to a router in which 2 other computers are connected to it ( suspected to be infected with a virus or something) :)

Some infections spread round networks so technically yes it is possible from the machines, not from the router itself.

My advice would be to ensure you have a solid third-party firewall installed, and disable File Sharing. As Neil says, you are at risk when connecting to a network with infected machines. If you like, I can ask a few of our Malware staff to have a look at this, as they may be able to provide you with some extra steps to stay safe.

Thank you Neil Jones

that would be your best bet if you suspect infection... with out going into to much detail, and keeping a long story short, it can be just the one system infected or it could be all three. There are some infections that target your router and they will infect/reinfect any system connected to it if not dealt with properly. :)
