How do I fix a lag on my dell 1525 notebook between typing and how when it appears on the screen?

Hi fatty702, Open Control Panel, you will see Keyboard open it and you will find setting there
for Repeat delay and Repeat rate

I tried that but that only fixes the rate of speed of a letter if I hold it down. It occures when I'm typing randomly like my computer gets behind and can't keep up. I have plenty of memory & RAM. I have also run virus scans and restored my computer. If you have any other suggestions I would really appreciate them.
