Hello, Does anyone have the XP driver for the HP VL400. I have tried several intel and realtek drivers. control panel - sound - "no audio device".

The driver is not listed on HP, I tried the Intel and Realtek drivers, same error.

Not a hardware issue as I tested the hardware and I hear a beep during an error.

Thanks

Right click MY COMPUTER, choose PROPERTIES, choose HARDWARE, choose DEVICE MANAGER

is there an audio or multimedia device listed

incidently, the sound of a beep does not mean you have an audiocard...there is an internal speak that has nothing to do with sound

no device listed

Audio Codex
Legacy Audio Drivers
Multimedia
and a few others are listed

it does not list the imbedded soundcard

in control panel- sound and audio - "no audio device"

for example, in my DELL it lists, SoundMax Digital Audio

Integrated audio device was DISABLED in the BIOS.

I enabled it and XP picked it up. I had checked plug and play in the BIOS but assumed audio was on. Ah well, after all the trouble at least it is working.
