I have followed all your steps as directed. I previously had Ad-Aware, Spybot and CSW. Ad-Aware found and removed almost 250 objects, but parts of it would regenerate, then would automatically reinstall the other portions back. If i close processes that i know are bad, it just generates a new one, usually with a different name. If i try to delete nail.exe or any of the trojan downloaders they immediately reappear. I searched around until i found your recomendations to someone with a similar problem and downloaded Ewido which has contained it to just the regenerating files. I then followed the rest of your steps. I was lacking on Windows updates, so i dled 1A rather than 2. I ran AVG which found 16 files but when it removed them, they immediately returned, but i figured that would happen. Upon rebooting i reran Ad-Aware and the only file that came up this time was an Elitebar file, so something i have done thus far has dramatically improved matters, or at least contained them to the point that they don't show up. For a while when i have tried to log into my hotmail account it would just say done with a blank page. I know i have problems within my IE and registry, plus the regenerating file problem i mentioned in the topic. I have attempted for fix this and similar problems in the past, so i'm sure i've screwed up my registry pretty badly. Thanks in avdance. here is my HJT log:

Hey, looks like that got rid of some of the stuff but oddly after i rebooted and attempted to post my new log here it said that my security settings did not allow me to submit HTML forms, or soemthing to that affect. The only optioni changed was one to enable hidden files. I had to restore internet security defaults to a medium setting, and now i'm able to post. But if you could possibly answer why that happened, i'd appreciate it. Also i noticed a lot oh Yahoo crap still on my computer. My family installed all that when they were using this computer and i never have or will use it. Is it ok to delete them using HJT? Thanks.

Feel free to fix any Yahoo stuff with HJT. It might be more effective to uninstall it though.

Next, please download this file to your desktop - http://www.mvps.org/.../DelDomains.inf .

Right click on the file you downloaded and select install. This resets the trusted and restricted zones to defaults.

Thanks for all the quick replies. I filtered out a bunch of stuff i knew i didn't want but had already uninstalled like the Yahoo and weatherbug crap. It's starting to look a lot cleaner.

Actually i don't think it's deleting it at all. It check it, click fix, i say yes when it asks me if i'm sure, and then the screen goes blank. When i scan again it's still there.

1) Please download the Killbox.
Unzip it to the desktop but do NOT run it yet.

2) Then please reboot into Safe Mode by restarting your computer and pressing F8 as your computer is booting up. Then select the Safe Mode option.

3) Run Hijackthis then please select the following with HijackThis. With all windows (including this one!) closed, please select "fix.”

7) Return to Killbox, go to the File menu, and choose "Paste from Clipboard".

If you receive a message such as: "Component 'MsComCtl.ocx' or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid." when trying to run TheKillbox, click here to download and run missingfilesetup.exe. Then try TheKillbox again..

9) Let the system reboot.

10) Post a fresh HijackTHis log & tell me how your pc is acting.

Well the yesterday my 30 day trial for ewido ran out, so i've been getting popups galore. I haven't gotten any sinse i just did these changes, but it has been a short period of time so i'll let you know for sure next time i reply. AVG is still giving me the occasional trojan downloaded warning though, so i know i still have a problem there. Nail.exe is gone so that's great. It just seems there's a single regenerating file left. Thanks for all the help, things have gotten much better. Here's my new HJT log:

I can see the problem now - you have a Qoologic trojan infection.

Please download FindQoologic from here:
http://forums.net-in...=post&id=134981
Save it to the desktop and run Find-Qoologic2.bat. This will generate a log file; please post the entire contents of the log file here for me to see.
