I expected to see more there.... let's get one more scan done.

Download the RKFiles.zip from here:
http://skads.org/special/rkfiles.zip

Create a new folder called c:\Antispyware\RKFiles
Extract the contents of RKFiles.zip into this new RKFiles folder.

Then,

1. Reboot into Safe Mode

Restart and press the F8 key a few times after the BIOS loads -- the first thing you see when the pc "comes alive" and does its "self test" -- before windows loads).

2. Open the C:\Antispyware\RKFiles folder

* Locate and double-click the RKFILES.BAT to run this tool.
* Sit back and wait untill its finished.
* When it is finaly finished a text file will open.
* Save the contents of that text file.

Note: It should save by default to C:\Log.txt
* Find this log, right-click and rename it RKFiles_log.txt so you can post it later.

3. Reboot back to Normal Mode.

4. Post the log as well as a new hijackthis log & new findqoologic log.

When i run the Qoologic it says a bunch of times

The process cannot access this file because it is being used by another process.

So that might have something to do with it. Here are all the logs you asked for.

Download Killbox. Extract(unzip) it to its own folder.

Disconnect from the internet... unplug the cable to your modem if need be.

Close all open windows and programs, then start Killbox. Put a check next to "Delete on Reboot", then copy this line in "Full Path of File to Delete" box:

C:Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\programs\startup\dant.exe

Click the red and white "Delete File" button.
Click "Yes" at the first prompt .
Click "No" at the second.

Repeat those same steps for each of these files one at a time:

C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\blizzard.dll

The popups are getting slightly worse now. It's usually a handful at a time rather than just one. And it tried to install Websearchtoolbar again. I think the first file you gave me to delete was not found. It usually shows the name of the file in blue right under the path and it did not for that.

EDIT: Ok well apparently when it tried to reinstall coolwebsearch it did install some other programs. I just used add/remove programs to get rid of cashbackbuddy, navisearch, the bullseye network and weird on the web. I still notice more popups now than i have been, but it's dramatically less than it was before i got rid of these programs. Aurora is back as well.

PLEASE NOTE THAT ALL FILES FOUND BY THIS METHOD ARE NOT BAD FILES,
I've also noticed that now random words within Internet Explorer have become links. Malware, trogan, email are just some examples.

THERE MIGHT BE LEGIT FILES LISTED AND PLEASE BE CAREFUL WHILE FIXING. IF YOU ARE UNSURE OF WHAT IT IS LEAVE THEM ALONE.

Download Killbox. Extract(unzip) it to its own folder.

Disconnect from the internet... unplug the cable to your modem if need be.

Close all open windows and programs, then start Killbox. Put a check next to "Delete on Reboot", then copy this line in "Full Path of File to Delete" box:

C:Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\programs\startup\dant.exe

Click the red and white "Delete File" button.
Click "Yes" at the first prompt .
Click "No" at the second.

Repeat those same steps for each of these files one at a time:

C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\blizzard.dll

Please run Notepad and paste the following text into a new file:

REGEDIT4

Save the file to the desktop as fix.reg and make sure the "Save as Type" field says "All Files". Then please go to the desktop and double-click on fix.reg, and click Yes to merge it with the registry.

Close all open windows and programs, then start Killbox. Put a check next to "Delete on Reboot", then copy this line in "Full Path of File to Delete" box:

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Startup\strings.exe

Click the red and white "Delete File" button.
Click "Yes" at the first prompt .
Click "No" at the second.

Repeat those same steps for each of these files one at a time:

C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\spmlkd.exe
C:\WINDOWS\tdtb.exe
C:\WINDOWS\wupdt.exe
C:\WINDOWS\System32\ps1.exe

When you've finished, exit Killbox and reboot.

After rebooting, please post a new FindQoologic-Narrator log & RK filesand a new HJT log.

Keep those fingers crossed - we should be about done.

Please download the trial version of Ewido Security Suite here:
http://www.ewido.net/en/download/
Install it, and update the definitions to the newest files. Do NOT run a scan yet.

Please download Nailfix from here:

Next, please reboot your computer in Safe Mode by doing the following:
1) Restart your computer
2) After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, press F8.
3) Instead of Windows loading as normal, a menu should appear
4) Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode.

For additional help in booting into Safe Mode, see the following site:

Once in Safe Mode, please double-click on Nailfix.bat. Your desktop and icons will disappear and reappear, and a window should open and close very quickly --- this is normal.

Then please run Ewido, and run a full scan. Post the log from the scan here for me.

Then please run HijackThis, click Scan, and check:

F2 - REG:system.ini: Shell=Explorer.exe C:\WINDOWS\Nail.exe

Close all open windows except for HijackThis and click Fix Checked.

Restart your computer in normal mode and please post a new HijackThis log, as well as the log from the Ewido scan.

Ok well nail.exe is finally gone! A couple of old ones you mentioned were there, a lot of web search stuff, so i just got rid of the ones i recognized but i probably missed one or two. Here are the logs you asked for. Thanks.
