Hi Everyone

My Compaq 5000t with win xp,died on me. the more I tried to repair, the worse it got.

I bought a new hard drive(factory replacement0 and thought that would do it. It did not have DOS on it so I was back where I started. I have been online for days downloading boot disks with no change.

Basically: I sign on---->Keyboard works for 2 screens to get me to the Start up Menu----->then that is all. I cannot get the keyboard to work again. There is also nothing available to me on my pc to reconfigure anything...

I have tried all the F keys, lots of dos ME boots, and whatever else I found.

Should I just send to PC heaven?

Will appreciate any help?

Thanks,

Jon from Los Angeles

If you have an XP licence why are you trying to put Windows Millennium on it?
Boot off the XP CD, follow it through, it'll ask you for your Millennium CD, ask you for your XP CD again and continue to install Windows. You don't need to install Windows M.E.
