I don't know how to come across the name or manufacturer of my video card, and I just installed Windows 98. Why? Well, I started off with Windows XP. My system had a terrible crash and I had to install Windows 2000 over it. Well, that was even worse because I couldn't spend ten minutes online without it crashing my web browser and I had the same problem; the color limitation. However when I was using a different computer with Windows 98 on it, I fixed the problem a lot easier because someone knew what to do when I gave an analysis on softwaretipsandtricks, but obviously no one knows how to deal with the problem on Windows 2000. So...any links or suggestions?

Also I realize there must be a million of these things going around with the same title and replies, however I'd like the answers and links to correspond with my computer and my problems specificly, not some random person's computer. Thank you.

You need the driver for your video card which can be found here. The Savage2000 Win9x/ Me Driver 9.51.17 is the latest version offered. These are the Windows 9x/ Me Drivers and using the drop down list will also give you the Windows 2000/XP Drivers. I would suggest you download these and burn them to a CD for future use.

Well the link to the page itself works, but when I click on any of the links from there they don't work. I even went out and bought some cd's to burn the driver on and gave it to my friend with the same link to try on his computer and it didn't work. Could you give the link to the page that those links bring you to? And thanks again for all your time and effort I really really appreciate it!! :)

My apologies for the dead link. I'm sure it was working when I tried it earlier. I found the driver and uploaded it to a hosting site and you can download it here.

This is the S3 Savage2000 (Diamond Viper II) Video Adapter Driver for Win95, Win98, Win98SE, WinME, WinNT4, Win2000 and WinXP.

You will need to unzip it and then navigate to the SAVAGE2K\Win9xME folder and run Setup.exe.

If you need any help with that let me know.
