Checked volume control and it gave me some error saying no mixing device detected.

Ok I checked Device Manager and I got an Unknown Device in Sounds that was not there before.

NOTE: In "Other Devices" I see 2 yellow exclamation marks. One over my printer and one over and Uknown Device.

printer is a driver problem also
error in mixing device is definatly the sound card driver not working
in device manager right click on unknown device in sound and click on update.
Follow the prompts and it will tell you what it is looking for. Post back and lets see if we can narrow this down.
BTW did you check in the bios to make sure onboard sound was enabled?
If you did and posted I apologize for asking again.

To get into bios
Reboot system
When first black screen starts then click Del key
You may have to click a few times to get in. Once in you need to find the area that says Periphehals or onboard.
Look around but don't change anything till you find the onboard sound settings. When you find it just highlight it and press enter. Then make sure you change it to enabled.
Then click F10 to save and exit. You may have to click yes or ok after that.
The system will reboot and we can check from there.
IMPORTANT do not change any other settings in the bios unless instructed as it could make your system unbootable.

It's possible. You may reboot and see if you can see what the error message is
Also what noise are you describing?

ok that may be because of the sound problem. You may try to reinstall that software now and see if it will fix that problem..
I'm looking at the problem with printer now The mp460 error seems to be a driver reinstallation that will fix it

OK the mp460 error in device manager is the printer. Just uninstall them in device manager and then install printer drivers from the disk that came with it. That should fix that problem
