I have a compaq presario 4000 series computer running WinME with a 900mhz AMD and 256 mb Ram. I start the system and it boots to Windows fine, but gives me the error message,

Microsoft visual C++ runtime error.

Program C:\WINDOWS\EXPLORER.EXE

This application has requested the runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.
please contact the applications system adminstrator for more info.

normally I would have used the system restore disk that came with the computer, but the machine is a friend of mines and is old. So I do not have the disk.

Do yo have a copy of Microsoft Office on this machine with a CD? A good way to deal with this is to reinstall office, which by default will reinstall the visual c++ files
