After installing Acronis True Image Home 2009 my defrag stopped working. I right click on my computer select manage then select defrag and it comes up fine, no errors. I select the drive and click on the analyze button the button appears to work becuase it moves, but nothing happens same goes for the defrag button. I have uninstalled Acronis and ran my registry cleaner. I also tried the following:
First I opened up a Command Prompt

Change into the windows\system32 directory. Type:
cd \windows\system32

I register the defrag components, by typing:
regsvr32 dfrgsnap.dll
regsvr32 dfrgui.dll

Then using Windows Explorer I went to windows\inf folder.
Then went to dfrg.inf right click and select Install.

Rebooted and it still does the same thing.

Any help is greatly appreciated

I don't know a fix for your problem, but the best thing to do would be to get another defragger.
One good free alternative is:

Auslogics Disk Defrag
