Ok...


I would sincerely appreciate any and all help and suggestions at this point as I am ready to pull my hair out.

1) My Google search results almost always redirect to random sites (they run the gamut from directory sites, to shopping to random advertising. . .) and the only solution is to hit back on the browser and then click the link again...it usually takes me where it's supposed to on the 3rd or 4th try (this happens using either FireFox or IE)

2)My antivirus won't update, even when I try to tell it to connect manually to update itself.

3)Windows Update won't notify me of new updates, and when I try to go to the Windows Update site to download them manually, IE just freezes and sits there.

4)Windows Defender won't update nor run at it's scheduled time.

5)I try to go into the registry editor and it will stay open for maybe 20 seconds and then close on me again.

6)My browser is REALLY slow (regardless of which one I use).

I've been browsing through the forums here and trying different things, and nothing seems to work.

I've used GooRedFix, and it finds nothing. I've run Spybot and it found nothing short of random tracking cookies. Run TrendMicro's virus and spyware scanner and found nothing. Run Windows Defender and found nothing and run my antivirus (AVG) and that didn't find anything either.

I try to run ComboFix and it won't run at all (whether I save the file with it's normal name or whether I put the hyphen in). I am now clueless as to what else to do.
