Hi people i need some help.....i had a cd writer in my computer but i took it out and put in a dvd writer.....i then turned the computer on and it took ages to start( it was very fast prior to changing the drives) when it eventually started the drive did not show in my computer....or in device manager. i re started the comp went to setup it is being recognised in bios and there is definatly power going to it does anyone have any solution?

go to control panal and select add new hardware. This is unusual windows should recognize this. What operating system do you have?

How is the DVD burner configured -
Is is on the secondary IDE channel on it's own?
Is it configured to master, slave or CS?
Is it attached to the end of the IDE cable or to the middle connector on the cable?
