Hi- I am having a huge dilemma with my HP external hard drive. I stupidly let my sister borrow it to put music on her iPod, I think she dropped it, but of course she denies all... Drive no longer starts, The power comes on, blue light is on to show it is connected, but it never starts. It makes a weird low hum, pauses, then returns to the hum, etc for about a minute and then stops, blue light still on but nothing is happening. I was trying to figure out how to open it up- since I can't find ANY screws, I'm here. I'm hoping that it is something that can be rewired/replaced since this is 5 years of CDs, movies, and books, would probably take me years to find & replace them again. Also, if it is "dead" is there anyway at all to get the info off the old hard drive onto a new one?
