My old PC is running windows 98 and I have experienced a fatal error 0028:FF062A3E.

I was able re-boot using the rescue disk and re-installed windows. This did not fix it and I got the same error.

When I boot up, the machine seems to be fine and then returns to the error after about 3 - 5 minutes.

Any suggestions?

Here are a few more symtoms.

My antivirus (Norton) immediately tries a system scan once the machine boots up and fails to complete the process.

I also have tried to download updates for my antivirus but the blue screen appears after about 30% complete. (last update was 4/28)

Thanks
