Hi Robert and welcome to Geeks to Go!

Deleting files can make for a sticky situation. Once a file is deleted using the "delete" key/function it isn't exactly gone. The common misconception is that pressing the delete key totally removes the file from the system. What actually takes place is very different. When you delete a file it says in memory but it's place can be overwritten with something else. It basically hides it from you and allows you to write over the file when the system needs storage space.

If you are desperately in need of this particular file you could try file recovery applications. Sadly none of these programs guarantee that the file will be replaced and they are not always user friendly. Keep in mind that it is also possible that the file may be recoverable --- but may come out damaged. It really depends on the scenario.

Let me know which route you wish to take.

Good luck! :)
