I had this problem previous and was resolved for a time and has reared its ugly head again. I have two laptops set up in a home network through a switch then via modem. One laptop works fine the other has very slow internet connection( I have swapped ethernet connction and it is the laptop at fault). It can find the website but freezes when waiting for a reply. It originally had no connection but after a XP connection diagnosis it now has limited connectivity.
