Hi Ego,

Sorry to disappoint you but your PC is still very much infected with not only smitfraud infection but also a few more thrown in for good measures.

However we will soon have you clean.

Please print out a copy of these instructions so that they are easy to follow and so that you have access to them, when you have to reboot your PC

First, get rid of NewDotNet. Go to Control Panel: Add/Remove Programs and remove it. If it is not there, go here and follow Procedure 4: http://www.newdotnet.com/removal.html

A malicious .DLL file is disrupting the LSP chain on your computer. We need to get rid of it.

1. Please download LSPFix from here.
2. Run the LSPFix.exe that you have just finished downloading.
3. Check the I know what I'm doing box.
4. In the Keep box you may see one or more instances of newdotnet6_38.dll.
5. Select every instance of newdotnet6_38.dll and move each one to the Remove box by clicking the >> button.
6. When you are done click Finish>>.

Now we can start on the rest.

Please read these instructions carefully! Be sure to follow ALL instructions!

Please right-click: HERE and go to Save As (in Internet Explorer it's "Save Target As") in order to download Grinler's reg file. Save it to your desktop.

Locate "smitfraud.reg" on your desktop and double-click it. When asked if you want to merge with the registry, click YES. Wait for the "merged successfully" prompt then follow the rest of the instructions below.

Go to Start > Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs and remove the following programs, if found:

Security IGuard
Virtual Maid
Search Maid

Exit Add/Remove Programs.

*IMPORTANT*CLICK THIS LINK TO LEARN HOW TO VIEW HIDDEN FILES

I need you to copy all of the Killbox file paths below and paste them into Notepad.

* Please download the Killbox by Option^Explicit. *In the event you already have Killbox, this is a new version that I need you to download.

* Save it to your desktop.

* Please double-click Killbox.exe to run it.

* Select "Delete on Reboot".

* Open the Notepad file where you saved the file paths earlier and copy the file paths below to the clipboard by highlighting ALL of them and pressing CTRL + C

C:\wp.exe
C:\wp.bmp
C:\bsw.exe
C:\Windows\sites.ini
C:\Windows\popuper.exe
C:\Windows\System32\wldr.dll
C:\Windows\System32\helper.exe
C:\Windows\System32\intmon.exe
C:\Windows\System32\shnlog.exe
C:\Windows\System32\intmonp.exe
C:\Windows\System32\msmsgs.exe
C:\Windows\system32\msole32.exe
C:\Windows\System32\ole32vbs.exe

* Return to Killbox, go to the File menu, and choose "Paste from Clipboard".

* Click the red-and-white "Delete File" button. Click "Yes" at the Delete on Reboot prompt. Click "No" at the Pending Operations prompt.

If your computer does not restart automatically, please restart it manually.

While your computer is restarting, tap the F8 key continually until a menu appears. Use your up arrow key to highlight Safe Mode, then hit enter.

Make sure you can view hidden files.

Using Windows Explorer, delete the following, if found, (please do NOT try to find them by "search" because they will not show up that way)

FOLDERS to delete (in bold) if found:

C:\Program Files\Search Maid
C:\Program Files\Virtual Maid
C:\Windows\System32\Log Files
C:\Program Files\Security IGuard

While still in Safe Mode, do the following:

Make sure all programs and windows are closed. Run HiJackThis and place a check next to the following items, if found, then click FIX CHECKED

:tazz: Thank you very much for your help and time!!! I did exactly what you told me, and I think It went pretty well, eccept for a couple of things. firts in that LSP program, there was no newdotnet6_38.dll file, so I exit the program. Then this past from clipboard, in the killbox programm didn't really work, so I just did them one at the time, each after another. Something weird also hapond during al this, I lost my background picture and now steam (from half life 2) won't work either. But this are not really problems, I'll just reinstall steam agin. Also one thing is worth mentioning I think, that is, that when I was downloading ActiveScan it hung (pc stopt, not responding). After rebooting, It did instal well and now I'm scanning it does take some time, but It didn't find anything yet. So when its done, i post the resolts!!! Thanks AGAIN for your help, here are the new results from HijeckThis!!

Please set your system to show
all files; please see here if you're unsure how to do this.

Press Control-Alt-Del to enter the Task Manager.

Click on the Processes tab and end the following processes:

F:\PROGRA~1\Pinnacle\SHARED~1\Filter\server.exe
Exit the Task Manager when finished.

Close all programs leaving only HijackThis running. Place a check against each of the following:

R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Local Page = F:\WINDOWS\about.htm
O23 - Service: avast! Mail Scanner - Unknown owner - F:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast4\ashMaiSv.exe" /service (file missing)
O23 - Service: avast! Web Scanner - Unknown owner - F:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast4\ashWebSv.exe" /service (file missing)

Click on Fix Checked and then Reboot into Safe Mode: please see here if you are not sure how to do this.

Using Windows Explorer, locate the following files/folders, and delete them:

F:\PROGRA~1\Pinnacle\SHARED~1\Filter\server.exe
R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Local Page = F:\WINDOWS\about.htm

Exit Explorer, and reboot as normal afterwards.

If you were unable to find any of the files then please follow these additional instructions:

Download Pocket Killbox and unzip it; save it to your Desktop.

Run it, and click the radio button that says Delete a file on reboot. For each of the files you could not delete, paste them one at a time into the full path of file to delete box and click the red circle with a white cross in it.

The program will ask you if you want to reboot; say No each time until the last one has been pasted in whereupon you should answer Yes.

Let the system reboot and post back a fresh HijackThis log and we will take another look.

Goede avond ego, Mijn Nederlands is ongeveer zo goed zoals uw Engels. Alles in Hijackthis nu kijkt schoon. Nu te downloaden gelieve het volgende programma.

Ewido

Install it and then double click on the new icon for the program. You can't miss it, it's a big yellow E. It will ask you to upgrade the database. Follow the instructions.
Do not run it yet.

Reboot into SAFE MODE. Now run ewido click on the Scanner button, Select C drive if you have more than one and then start.

grab a cup of coffee, sandwiches, book and sleeping bag :tazz: as this will take some time. Once the first problem is detected ensure you tick the box for all (bottom left) and allow it to continue.

At the end of the scan, it may ask if you would like to delete anything found in archive or zipped files, OK that request, then click on save report. SAVE to the default location, it will then generate a text file. Copy that to post in this thread.

Oh i never talk about politics, it causes too much trouble :tazz: ;)

With regards to Ewido, as long as you are not asleep when it finds the first problem, (it needs an answer and the tick box checking to continue) once you have done that you can go to sleep and by the time you wake up the report will be waiting for you.
