Hi, I have a compaq NC6400 and I have this problem. When I plug in my computer to charge, it displays this popup when hovering over the power icon

Plugged in (0%, Charging)

The thing is, it never charges. It stays at 0%. I have left it to charge the whole night and it stays at 0%. The moment I unplug it the power shuts off. It's completely drained. About 3 days ago it was working fine with a battery life of 1 hour, which works all right. Now, suddenly, in 2 days, it drains to 0%? I don't think so. There's something wrong.

Also, the amount of heat being generated is A LOT too. Can someone help me, please? :) Thanks!!!

Either the battery is dead or the charging system died (not uncommon unfortunately on HP/Compaqs). Does the charging light do anything like blink instead of stay solid when you plug the adapter in?

Actually, yes, it seems like it's the charger's problem. The big box is making squeaking noises and when it does finally power the computer, it makes a scraping noise . Seems like something's loose inside. This is the 2nd time my charger has failed on me :). Anyway, thanks for the help and I'll get it fixed!
