sorry. this is a long time coming.
it took over an hour and a half to reboot, and then the laptop powered off in under 20 minutes. rebooted, said it had shut off because it had overheated.
had to go through this ordeal all over again.
"checking file system on C: the type of the file system is NTFS
CHKDSK is verifying files (stage 1 of 5) ...
CHKDSK is verifying indexes (stage 2 of 5) ...
CHKDSK is verifying security descriptors (stage 3 of 5) ...
CHKDSK is verifying file data (stage 4 of 5) ... "
i didn't see what stage 5 was. it was stuck on 72% in stage 4 for so long i gave up & went out to work on the desktop instead.
came back to find it had powered of AGAIN. gave up for the night.
tried again today. much of the same, except as soon as the desktop came up i shut it down for a few hours so it wouldn't overheat again.
i tried it a couple hours ago. powered up normal speed at least, but video lags still & doesn't sync with the audio. both WMP & online video. it's kinda like watching a japanese film.
