cannt make a back up !

Let me first thank all the staffs on the geek 2 go for their very timely n wonderful support.

I had purchased my present system Toshiba model no- PSAJ4E-01W00XAR
when
sir my problem is i dont have any back up stored on a cd or in the system. when i did try to run a backup from control panel , when reacheing the section where it asks which disk u want to include in the back up .. i get the message that there is an error in the c disk .. n when i try to ge that fix it say it cannt and finally i dont have any sort of back up for my system

I am using vista home premium.

please kindly guide me to make a back up .

looking forward for getting assistance asap
