They are connected through a Linksys BEFSR41 Router/4 port switch. The router is also connected to the internet and a HP printer.
The system has been working perfectly for months.
I had to format and reinstall Xp on Machine #1. No problems, I set up the network as before and everything was fine
This morning things went awry.
Both machines can access the internet and the printer. Machine #2 can access machine #1
Machine #1 shows only itself in Network Connections. The status of the network shows it is moving data.
Coincidentally Windows firewall keeps starting itself. I use Comodo. I have disabled both firewalls to no avail. But Windows fire wall keeps restarting.
